Last year it was Plexiglas, but this winter it is all about crystals. Bouquets, tiaras, favors, table decor, wedding cake style, you name it, crystals are in. For your trip down the aisle, consider bouquets from sparkly Swarovski crystals (see www.tradewindtiars.com), or, if you simply must have fresh, ask your florist how he or she can incorporate crystal details into your posy.

For reception décor, think winterscape colors – icy blue, white, cream, silver and berry red. Think frosted votives and silver plate chargers. Add glint and glimmer to invitations, programs, and place cards with glue-on crystals (see Jean’s Essentials). Consider crystal cake toppers for a clean, contemporary look (save on flowers and take home a keepsake!).

Take a page of Elle Décor’s book. Their fantasy wedding design for the Dining by Design show in Chicago featured spray painted silver birch trees hung with crystals, table linens of cracked ice tulle from B&J Fabrics, huge crystal blossom chandeliers, twig stemware, and crystal branch garlands as centerpieces.
