What are wedding announcements?

4 September 2008 6 views No Comment

A wedding announcement is sent after the wedding have taken place. They are sent to friends, casual acquaintances and business associates not invited to the wedding. In addition to announcing an important event in your life, they also serve to update these friends on any name or address changes. Couples most likely to use wedding announcements are those that chose to have a small intimate wedding or those that elope.

Traditionally, announcements were sent out by the bride’s parents, but much like wedding invitations these days, they can now come from the couple themselves. A wedding announcement should include the names of the couple, the names of the parents (optional), the wedding date, ceremony location, city and state.
