An easy, do-it-yourself save the date for a destination wedding with timeless style and vintage appeal.

As a wedding planner I helped many couples plan and execute their perfect destination wedding. A Save the Date is a must have for any destination wedding. It should go out as soon as you have nailed down the location and date. It allows your guests to plan ahead financially for the trip and to schedule their personal and work lives around a trip abroad.

Vintage Save the Date Postcard How To:

A destination couple traveling to St Kitts in the West Indies wanted to spark the interest of their guests with a Save the Date while keeping to the feel of their wedding – nostalgic, romantic, and vintage.

I located four different vintage postcards of St Kitts on ebay and asked the seller in Paris for use of his images – not the actual postcards! He scanned them and e-mailed them. Using other vintage postcards as inspiration, I designed the back and added a message from the couple. We had them printed on card stock and the bride hand addressed them to her friends and family.

A wedding website about your destination wedding is one of the most important ways you can communicate up to date travel information and booking options to your guests. Get one now at Wedding Window. We like thier theme Moderne for a tropical wedding and Paradise for a beach wedding.

Visit Papeterie for innovative, bold save-the-date cards drawing inspiration from textile designs. I love starfish and coral for a destination wedding.

I suggested this idea to my daughter and she is going to get some ideas together and then we will make it happen. It has really made save the date easier and fun to do.

    Hi,
Do you still have those image jpgs by any chance? I have spent all morning researching vintage post cards–until I just stumbled on your site! I’m getting married in St. Kitts this fall and need to get my Save the Dates out asap. The images you showcased above are cooler than the ones I’m spotting on ebay, papervent, pennymead, and declampe.

Any help you can provide would be so appreciated!
