Pretty place cards… http://flourishweddings.com/blog/pretty-place-cards/ http://flourishweddings.com/blog/pretty-place-cards/#comments Tue, 21 Oct 2008 15:57:08 +0000 savvybride http://flourishweddings.com/blog/pretty-place-cards/ I needed to devise unique placecards for a destination wedding in the Bahamas. I wanted to add some color to the long tables set out under a tent, but the bride didn’t want to add to the budget.

I printed the guests names in hot pink in a pretty font of white card stock. I made two slits with an exacto knife and threaded each card with pink ribbon.

    place cards

On the day of the wedding, using the bride’s diagram, I tied each place card to the chivari chairs.

The guests had no problem finding their places and it was a simple way to quickly add a splash of hot pink to the tables.

Blogs we like – Polka Dot Bride http://flourishweddings.com/blog/blogs-polka-dot-bride/ http://flourishweddings.com/blog/blogs-polka-dot-bride/#comments Sun, 21 Sep 2008 19:46:34 +0000 savvybride http://flourishweddings.com/blog/blogs-polka-dot-bride/ I couldn’t stop smiling after checking out this blog. It looks like the groom routinely takes over the Polka Dot Bride Blog and this Sunday he posted all his favorite shots of the guys at weddings. Check out more here.

One of my favorite wedding photographers Scott Patrick would often do a Reservoir Dogs groomsmen shot – all the guys walking down the street in shades, ties blowing in the wind. Mr Pink anyone?

I mean, when will I use a tiny white purse again?! When will I wear a tiara again!? OK, I have a tiara from my homecoming queen days and I do sometimes wear it just for fun.. But not out the house or anything.

Anyways…Here are just some of their items I am keeping my eye on…

Bouquet Series #2 – Biker Chic http://flourishweddings.com/blog/bouquet-series-2-biker-chic/ http://flourishweddings.com/blog/bouquet-series-2-biker-chic/#comments Sun, 21 Sep 2008 01:38:38 +0000 savvybride http://flourishweddings.com/blog/bouquet-series-2-biker-chic/ A fluffy cloud of white baby’s breath is refined with a cuff of chocolate feather trim for an unexpectedly modern and stylish look.

    biker chic bouquet

This bride was more a rocker chick than a biker chick, but I think the bouquet is still chic! It doesn’t take itself seriously.

Not for every bride, but it worked for her. It does highlight exactly how your bouquet can be representative of your personality and personal sense of style.

Blooming Placecards http://flourishweddings.com/blog/blooming-placecards/ http://flourishweddings.com/blog/blooming-placecards/#comments Sun, 21 Sep 2008 01:17:55 +0000 savvybride http://flourishweddings.com/blog/blooming-placecards/ For a fun and flirty beginning to your wedding reception, punch a hole in the top of your place cards and add chartreuse button mums.

This is a quick DIY project any bride can implement. We used long lasting kermit mums for this wedding. They were snipped from their bunch at 10am and were still looking great at 10pm. For more temperamental blooms, use small floral tubes.

Real Wedding – Camille and Charles http://flourishweddings.com/blog/real-wedding-camille-charles/ http://flourishweddings.com/blog/real-wedding-camille-charles/#comments Sun, 21 Sep 2008 01:10:38 +0000 savvybride http://flourishweddings.com/blog/real-wedding-camille-charles/ Camille knew from the beginning she wanted her wedding defined by the delicate color combination of pale pink and apple green and with a personalized monogram combining their two initials – C and C.

I designed her a monogram which was used on the invitation, the ceremony program fans, and eventually the cake [from The Cake Girls, Chicago]. Her favors – personalized M&M’s -had the same two C’s printed on them. Her luncheon reception centerpieces bloomed with pink roses and, since they come in the perfect apple green, apples! All in all, Camille’s total design concept resulted in a picture perfect wedding from any angle.
