Destination wedding must have’s
I have pulled together what I think are twelve of the most inspiring and beautiful destination wedding must haves. I hope you agree. Enjoy!
1. Simple and delicate, the large coral motif dominates this Save the Date and leaves the recipient in no doubt of the elegant island nuptials to come. Visit Papeterie for pricing and paper options.

2. Keep your flower girl’s cool and comfortable in the tropics with this delightful dress in lightweight satin or silk. Can be customized in other colors – Shelly George will send you 4 fabric samples free.

3. If you are not going barefoot on the beach, pick up these thong sandals in ivory or white (Touch Ups Macy Bridal Shoes at Belissima Bridal)

4. Find these luscious tropical invitations by SanLori at Stationery Style. Additional styles available.

Greet guests in style by leaving these all natural fiber sinamay envelopes in their suites filled with their wedding information and itineraries. The 10 inch envelope is the perfect size for all those destination wedding details.
5. Keep your wedding guests cool during the ceremony with these woven mini buri fans. Don’t set them out on the seats where they can blow away pre-ceremony. Ask your wedding coordinate to arrange for them to be handed out to guests as they arrive.
6. For a tropical petal toss, use bougainvillea petals instead of the typical rose petals. These are freeze dried, so you can carry them across to the island pre wedding. Scatter them down the aisle or hand them out to your guests in little sinamay bags and ask them to shower you as you come down the aisle for the first time as mr and mrs.

Buy fresh and freeze dried petals from Pick a Petal.
7. A destination wedding can create sensory overload. Great guests at the reception with these simple, elegant blue place cards from Wedding Paper Divas.

8. I’m embarrassed to admit that I dragged goodness knows how many sea shells, star fish and sand dollars to the Caribbean from.. of all places… Walmart. I’ve calligraphied guest’s names on sand dollars for place settings, hung tags on giant star fish for table numbers and tucked giant silver sea shells into centerpieces. And I never get tired of it. I love them! Now you don’t have to drag yourself to Walmart. Order them online by the pound from Sophie’s Favors.
9. Thank your guests with these adorable pebble candies….

…and tuck them into woven favor boxes from Eliza Fig.

10. I know I was worried about the wedding cake at several of my destination weddings. Often you don’t even get to select cake designs and flavors until you arrive on the island. Pair this topper with a simple, plain white cake and leave your worries behind. Find this Starfish Cake Topper at Eliza Fig.

I will follow this with a post about real destination wedding DIY projects. I am gathering together the photographs now. Please post any comments including your stylish destination wedding finds below.

I’ve been getting so many destination cake topper requests lately that I feel like I need to vacation on a warm sandy beach! I just did a seahorse in marine blue colored crystals. I wish I could attach the picture. Thought it would go so well on the cake with the white starfish. Just another alternative for destination brides!
Happy Planning,
Sari
